Power

Breathe in.
Feel the air fill your lungs.
Clean air.
Pure air,
bringing oxygen to your blood,
filling your muscles with new life.

This is what it feels like
to be alive.

You are ALIVE.

You have spent so much time
stationary.

Now it is time to move again.

Remember how good you felt
ten years ago,
before everything changed.

Remember how much energy you had?
How you woke up full of life?

Before you started
ruining yourself.
With alcohol.
With bad men.
With drugs.

Don’t punish yourself anymore.
It is over now.

You have a new beginning.
Clarity in your mind.
An ocean of warmth
in your heart.

You have emerged
with more vulnerability,
yet more resilience.
With more compassion,
yet more strength.

You are mindful,
before you speak.
You are not offended
by a differing opinion.

You are not persuaded
into conversations
that cause harm
to another.

You have come so far
in this,
your journey.

You are allowed
to feel proud
of the steps you have taken.

You will succeed,
(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed)

Just continue to be kind.
Continue to be strong.
Continue down this path,
and you will not go back
to where you were
before.

You’ve got this.

      1. Will keep getting better. Some more people are seeing the truth. Keep doing your best and standing up for the truth. We don’t need money to encourage us to do this or to inspire bravery 😆

        1. Do you ever find that it just hits you at a hundred miles an hour? I can go from the type of extreme buoyancy I’ve described here to complete despair in a matter of thirty minutes. It’s most befuddling 😐

  1. Great post! Sometimes it’s so hard to remember! Thanks for this, reminding me that “I have emerged with more vulnerability, yet more resilience. With more compassion,
 yet more strength.”
Truth! And yes to your last comment… Sometimes I know why and sometimes I don’t. It’s the nature of the beast and we just have to keep moving forward, as you said in the last sentence ❤

    1. Thank you so much for this. It’s so heartening to know that other people feel the same thing. And I suppose that every struggle and every swing back to the ‘beast’ brings us a new lesson and perhaps more compassion and resilience 💛
